215 Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the number of applicants in County Leitrim approved under the agri-environment options scheme; the number refused; the number awaiting a decision; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [43076/10]
View answerThe number of Agri-Environment Options Scheme applications received for County Leitrim is 439. Of these 323 applications have been approved and processing of the remaining 116 applications is ongoing. I expect the administrative and validation process to be completed and all outstanding cases to be notified of the outcome of their application before the end of November, with successful applicants receiving a start date of 1st November, 2010.
