It is a statutory requirement of the appeals process that the relevant Departmental papers and comments by the Social Welfare Services on the grounds of appeal be sought. 332 Deputy Michael Ring asked the Minister for Social Protection the position regarding a carer’s allowance appeal in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [2408/11]
View answerOn 24 August 2010 the person concerned was refused carer's allowance on the grounds that full time care and attention is not required in this case. She was notified of this decision, the reason for it and of her right to appeal to the Social Welfare Appeals Office. She has appealed this decision and an appeal has been opened in this case. On 14 January 2011 her carer's allowance file was submitted to the Social Welfare Appeals Office. The Social Welfare Appeals Office will be in contact with her directly regarding this appeal.
