530 Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the long delays for patients waiting to see a consultant in the ear, nose and throat department at Waterford Regional Hospital; if he will provide details of the numbers waiting to see a consultant; the average waiting time; if he will provide details of the number of ENT patients at the hospital on waiting lists for treatment and average waiting time; and if he will make a statement on the matter. While the management of waiting lists generally is a matter for the HSE and the individual hospitals concerned, the Special Delivery Unit soon to be set up, will have a major role in addressing this issue. I have, therefore, in the interim referred the Deputy's question to the Executive for reply.
