65 Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the number of suggestions received from members of the public to the comprehensive review of expenditure; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28503/11]
View answerMembers of the public were invited to submit suggestions to the Comprehensive Review of Expenditure through my Department's website. The period for suggestions to be put forward for consideration has now elapsed. In total there were in the order of 1,000 submissions made by way of e-mail and hard copy formats. All suggestions received as part of the Comprehensive Review of Expenditure have been forwarded to the relevant parent Department for appraisal and consideration in the context of preparing the Departmental expenditure report, as part of the overall pre-budget deliberations of the Government.
