Questions (466)

Denis Naughten

Question:

484 Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Health the reason a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon is deemed not to be financially independent to apply for a medical card in their own right even though they are in receipt of the maximum supplementary welfare allowance for their age; if this means that every person in the country under 25 years will have to be means tested for a medical card on their parents’ income if they live at home; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have requested the Health Service Executive to furnish a full report on this case. I will revert to the Deputy as soon as the information is to hand.
