The Defence Forces has a fleet of eleven (11) ambulances. The ambulances are spread across a range of Defence Forces locations with three in the Western Brigade, two each in the Eastern Brigade and the Defence Forces Training Centre and one each in the Southern Brigade and the Air Corps. The remaining two ambulances are overseas with UNIFIL. The life expectancy of the ambulances is 15 years. In that regard the Defence Forces will take delivery of three new ambulances this month to replace existing stock. It is also planned to purchase a further three ambulances for the Defence Forces in 2012.
