179 Deputy Joan Collins asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if he will provide a list of courses funded by local authorities for senior executives in local government; the location at which these courses are held; the cost of these courses; and the number of attendees per council each year; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under section 159 of the Local Government Act 2001, each City and County Manager is responsible for staffing and organisational arrangements necessary for carrying out the functions of the local authorities for which he or she is responsible. Accordingly, the detailed information sought is not available in my Department.
