Written answers

The Garda Commissioner is the Accounting Officer for the Garda Vote. In that context I am advised by the Garda authorities that expenditure on the maintenance of the Garda fleet over the last 18 months amounted to approximately €14 million. I am further advised that the information requested in relation to the remaining life span of each vehicle which underwent maintenance work is not readily available and that the extraction of such data would require the use of a disproportionate amount of Garda resources which are required for other purposes.

Questions Nos. 182 and 183 answered with Question No. 178.
