In relation to the Single Farm Payment, for the purpose of eligibility under the National Reserve Scheme, new entrants to farming must have obtained a FETAC Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Agriculture or its equivalent. The green certificate in farming is regarded as equivalent for this purpose.
Three Milk Quota Schemes have the following minimum educational requirements:

Under 35 year olds: ACOT/Teagasc Certificate in Farming or NCVA Certificate in Rural Enterprise (Green Cert)

Under 35 year olds: ACOT/Teagasc Certificate in Farming or NCVA Certificate in Rural Enterprise (Green Cert)
Over 35 year olds: The FETAC Certificates for 100 Hours and 80 Hours Teagasc approved training programme

Development Programme for Dairying:

Farm managers: First Farm Managers Certificate (awarded by the Farm Apprenticeship Board); or (ii) an Advanced Certificate in Farm Management; or (iii) a FETAC level 6 Advance Certificate in Agriculture (with priority being given to holders of FETAC level 6 Advance Certificate in Dairy Herd Management).
Sons/daughters: FETAC level 6 Advance Certificate in Agriculture (with priority being given to holders of FETAC level 6 Advance Certificate in Dairy Herd Management).
