Deputy Kevin Humphreys asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if he will provide a breakdown of the number of local authority mortgages being issued to persons from 2008 to 2013, inclusive, by local authority area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department collates and publishes a wide range of housing and planning statistics that inform the preparation and evaluation of policy, and those data are available on my Department’s website www.environ.ie. Data on the number of local authority mortgage approvals are included in this range; however these data are not broken down by local authority. The information requested is set out in the following table.
