My Department uses a variety of data sources to determine the number of school places required in an area , including census data, school enrolment data and child benefit data obtained from the Department of Social Protection. In regard to the particular area to which the Deputy refers, officials from my Department are in regular contact with the schools in the area, and are continuing to monitor the situation to ensure that there are enough pupil places to meet the overall needs of the area.
