266. Deputy Paul J. Connaughton asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the funding available from his Department for active retirement groups; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18335/14]

Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport

My Department does not currently provide any funding to active retirement groups.  However, funding has been provided to active retirement groups in the past through the Sports Capital programme.
