Questions (515)

Clare Daly

Question:

515. Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the fact that boundary fencing provided by Sligo Borough Council and funded by his Department a number of years ago as part of the refurbishment scheme for Garavogue Villas, County Sligo, needs to be replaced; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that householders in the estate have requested that the fencing be replaced at the earliest possible time; if he has received a submission from the local authority in Sligo seeking funding and approval to replace the fencing; if the funding for the replacement of the fencing will be approved and recouped from his Department's regeneration allocation for County Sligo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The management and maintenance of the local authority housing stock, including the funding and carrying out of repairs or replacement of boundary fencing, is the responsibility of the relevant local authority. There are no proposals with my Department in relation to this matter.
