339. Deputy Robert Troy asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection if she will expedite a domiciliary care allowance application in respect of a person (details supplied). [32170/14]
View answerAn application for domiciliary care allowance (DCA) was received from the person concerned on the 20th June 2014. Additional information was requested in relation to this claim on the 7th July 2014. When this information is received, the application will be forwarded to one of the Department’s Medical Assessors for their opinion, after which a decision will be made and notified to the person concerned. It can currently take up to 12 weeks to process an application for DCA.
