Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Health the reason public hospitals have long waiting lists for urgent magnetic resonance imaging, MRI, scans, yet patients may avail of next day appointments on the same machine by paying privately; if he will review this policy, particularly where the equipment and staff are paid from public funds; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
