View answerI understand from the details supplied that a complaint has been made to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission. As the Deputy is aware the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission is an independent body which was set up under the Garda Síochána Act to receive complaints made by members of the public concerning the conduct of members of the Garda Síochána.
The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission is independent in the exercise of its functions and I have no role in its consideration of complaints.
