While my Department provides the capital funding for investment in tourism attractions, it is not directly involved in developing or managing these.  The role of the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport in relation to tourism lies primarily in the area of national policy.

The allocation of funding to individual projects under the Ireland's Ancient East Capital Grants Scheme is an operational matter for Fáilte Ireland. I have, therefore, referred the Deputy's question to Fáilte Ireland for direct reply.  Please contact my private office if a response is not received within ten working days.
