Deputy Barry Cowen asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the number of observations sent by his Department to local authorities in relation to material alterations to development plans; the number of subsequent section 31 of the Planning and Development Act directives since March 2011; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has issued 26 observations to local authorities on material alterations to their development plans since March 2011 with 3 Ministerial Directions subsequently issued under Section 31 of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended, as outlined in the table below.
