375. Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Health if it is possible to seek a refund for prescriptions (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [39105/15]

Minister of State at the Department of Health

The General Medical Services (GMS) Scheme and the Drugs Payment Scheme (DPS) are separate schemes with separate qualifying criteria. There is no provision for a family in the circumstances mentioned by the Deputy to claim a refund of the GMS prescription charge from the DPS.
