Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources his plans to implement the recommendations made in the Oireachtas Joint Committee on the Environment, Culture and the Gaeltacht's report on River Shannon flooding published in 2012; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Officials in my Department have consulted with both Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) and ESB as regards recommendations that may be appropriate to those agencies. I have asked both agencies to respond directly to the Deputy.
