In general the retrofitting and refurbishment of existing farm buildings is not being grant aided under the Animal Welfare, Safety and Nutrient Storage Scheme of TAMS II. The items mentioned by the Deputy, namely sheeting on roofs, retrofitting galvanised gates and internal barriers and divisions or water facilities are not included.

However, the retrofitting of safety cages underneath perspex sheeting and the installation of calving gates in existing houses are being grant aided on safety grounds.
