Deputy Seán Haughey asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will contact the chief executive officer of Iarnród Éireann requesting that the number of carriages on the 8.03 am train from Newbridge to Heuston Station, Dublin, be increased from three to five; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The issue raised is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA), in conjunction with Iarnród Éireann and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply.  Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
