283. Deputy David Cullinane asked the Minister for Finance to set down the estimated full-year savings for 2017 by reducing spending on professional fees by 10% in his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14110/16]
View answerIn response to the Deputy's question, the total cost of professional fees incurred by my Department in 2015 (and published on the Department of Finance website) amounted to some €3m. A 10 per cent reduction in spending on consultancy related activities would, therefore, give rise to an annual saving of some €300k.
