468. Deputy Paul Kehoe asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht her position regarding VAT refunds on the expenditure of moneys received through the 1916 fund; if a registered charity set up as a company limited by guarantee, that is VAT registered, is entitled to apply for a VAT refund on the expenditure of such funds when any such rebate would be re-invested in the same project; and if she will make a statement on the matter. VAT refunds and other taxation related issues are a matter for individual grantees and the Revenue Commissioners. However, it is a standard condition of grant allocations from my Department that all monies provided by my Department are spent on the agreed project.
