173. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Social Protection if entitlement to dental treatment in the case of a person (details supplied) extends to periodontal treatment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7984/17]

The dental benefit scheme currently covers only a free yearly examination. Other treatments, such as periodontal treatment, are not currently covered under the scheme.
