Question:

1195. Deputy Noel Rock asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if his attention has been drawn to the comments made by a person (details supplied) on ladies football and camogie coming under the GAA umbrella; his views on such a measure; if he will propose this to the GAA; and if he will make a statement on the matter. All National Governing Bodies of Sport, including the GAA, the Ladies Gaelic Football Association and the Camogie Association, are independent, autonomous bodies and are responsible for their own internal structure. Neither I nor my Department have any role in relation to these matters and it would therefore be inappropriate for me to intervene.
