View answerIndustrial Emissions installations are subject to a range of regulatory controls under national legislation, including the conditions attached to a licence issued by the Environmental Protection Agency on the operation and management of such sites. The Agency has particular expertise in ensuring the protection of human health and the environment from activities with potential for significant pollution through its licensing system. I am satisfied that the necessary legislative and policy framework is currently in place and that the plant is and will continue to be subject to the appropriate statutory controls.
