View answerThe responsibility for the Totalisator Act 1929 rests with the Minister for Finance. However, I can inform the Deputy that, with the agreement of the Minister for Finance, it is proposed to introduce a minimum age of 18 to place a bet on the Tote in the forthcoming Civil Law and Courts (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2017. No minimum age exists at present.
