124. Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for Health if the public ownership of the new maternity hospital will be guaranteed in view of public concern regarding the ownership of the new hospital; if the proposed site for the building will transfer to public ownership; if it will entail a loan, licence or a lease; if assurance will be provided to the public in this regard prior to the final agreement being reached; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A draft legal framework is currently being finalised which will inter alia ensure that the State's significant investment in the new hospital will be protected. Pending its finalisation and sign off by all stake holders, it would be premature to provide any further details at this stage.
