620. Deputy Niall Collins asked the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht her views on the present open season for duck shooting and hunting; her further views on whether opening the season on 1 September is appropriate; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [15159/19]

The hunting season for duck species extends from 1 September to 31 January of the following year and is set out in legislation in the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) Orders 1979 to 2011. I have no current proposals to change the dates for the hunting of duck species.
