297. Deputy Carol Nolan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the role of Bord Bia in respect of the negotiation of contracts on the price of beef at international trade fairs and in the promotion of Irish beef; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26181/20]
View answerBord Bia is the State Body charged with promotion and marketing of Irish food, drink and horticulture products ensuring that the high quality of Irish food and drink is recognised around the world.
They play a key role in supporting and enabling Irish producers, farmers and companies to bring Ireland’s food, drink and horticulture to the world by developing potential markets, collecting market intelligence, providing advice on trends and opportunities and implementing the Quality Assurance Schemes for agri food products. Bord Bia has no role in contract negotiations on the price of beef at international trade fairs or elsewhere.
