1255. Deputy Cathal Crowe asked the Minister for Justice if she will consider allowing those working in the Irish Prison Service to continue working past the age of 60 if they are medically certified as fit to work. [15003/21]
View answerI am advised by my officials in the Irish Prison Service that there are no plans at present to request the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform to increase the mandatory retirement age for prison officers. The retirement age for Prison Officers is set out in legislation in the Public Service Superannuation Acts.
