104. Deputy Ciarán Cannon asked the Minister for Transport when the feasibility study into the double tracking of the rail line from Athenry to Galway city is commencing; when the findings will be published; and if the public will have an opportunity to make submissions to the study. [49931/21]
View answerI can confirm to the Deputy that the National Transport Authority (NTA) is funding a feasibility study in relation to service capacity on the Athenry to Galway corridor. The study will assess the optimal solution to increase frequency/capacity between Galway and Athenry on the Galway line and I believe this study commenced earlier this year.
