Deputy Matt Carthy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the funding for training and development and incidental expenses for a joint advertising campaign with the HSA on farm safety, listed under subhead C.11.10 in the Revised Estimates for 2021, allocated in budget 2022; and if this funding will appear under the dedicated heading for farm safety in the Estimates for 2022; and if he will make a statement on the matter. No decision has been made with respect to any advertising campaign with the HSA for 2022.

The definitive budgetary allocations across the Department will be set out in the 2022 Revised Estimates Volume (REV) which will be published later this year. It is important to point out that, at a technical level, this REV does not include a dedicated heading for farm safety.

In line with announcements on budget day, I wish to confirm that an additional €2m has been earmarked for farm safety expenditure in 2022.
