413. Deputy Michael Moynihan asked the Minister for Social Protection the number of families in each county that received the double child benefit payment in November 2022; and the number of children in each county in respect of whom a payment was made in tabular form. [56748/22]
View answerChild Benefit is a monthly payment to the parents or guardians of children under 16 years of age. Child Benefit can also be claimed for children aged 16 and 17, if they are in full-time education or full-time training or have a disability and cannot support themselves.
The once off double payment for those in receipt of Child Benefit payments issued on the 1st of November 2022.
Payments were made to 643,000 families in respect of 1.2 million children.
Please find attached, the number of families in each county that received the double child benefit payment in November 2022. The specific number of children, by county, who were the beneficiaries of this payment is not readily available at this time.
