Deputy Michael Lowry asked the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science if he will address a matter regarding a person who is having difficulty gaining apprenticeship college placement closer to their place of residence (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerUnder the Further Education and Training Act (2013), SOLAS has statutory responsibility for planning, funding, and co-ordinating Further Education and Training (FET) in Ireland. While it would not be appropriate for me, as Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation, and Science, to comment on any individual case, I have asked Solas to respond directly.
