Questions (191)

Martin Browne

Question:

191. Deputy Martin Browne asked the Minister for Health if the access to care fund could be accessed by the family of a patient (details supplied) who has ARFID and autism, who cannot gain access to a dietitian with knowledge of ARFID, who cannot gain access to a psychologist and who has been deemed unsuitable for CAMHS on the basis that ARFID is not a mental health issue; if he will outline a scheme that would provide financial assistance to enable the family to access services abroad in the event that no treatment is available in Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond directly to the Deputy as soon as possible.
