Deputy Denis Naughten asked the Minister for Transport the reason for the delay in processing an application (details supplied) under the wheelchair accessible vehicle grant scheme; the steps he is taking to expedite such applications in view of the Government's "shameful neglect" of action on transport access issues for people with disabilities according to the Ombudsman; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerThe regulation of the small public service vehicle (SPSV) industry, including SPSV licensing and wheelchair accessible vehicle grants, is a matter for the independent transport regulator, the National Transport Authority (NTA), under the provisions of the Taxi Regulation Acts 2013 and 2016.
