Deputy Carol Nolan asked the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science if he is aware of any body or agency under the aegis of his Department that is currently being funded to research pluripotent stem cells; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Both Science Foundation Ireland and the Irish Research Council fund a number of research projects involving induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC), which is common practice in life science research.
