Funding is available under Level 5 of the Access and Inclusion (AIM) programme for minor building alterations necessary to support access and facilitate a child’s participation in pre-school, including accessing a play area.

Unfortunately, this does not encompass soft play areas as described in the enquiry

Where an application for minor building alterations is approved, a capital grant towards the cost of these alterations may be awarded to the pre-school provider, limited to a value of €7,000 inclusive of VAT.

The provider is advised to contact Better Start at 01 5117000. Better Start provide support and advice with regard to supporting the inclusion of children with additional needs.
