Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage if he plans to make changes to the enhanced defective concrete block grant scheme to address the concerns of the estimated 3,000 persons who have attended public meetings in Donegal and Mayo and called for a genuine 100% redress scheme similar to that provided to the victims of the pyrite scandal in Dublin and north Leinster;; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Housing Provision

Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage if he is aware of the long standing housing issues in Carndonagh and Milford town, County Donegal whereby Donegal County Council and affordable housing bodies cannot proceed with the purchase of a large number of properties in both towns, for families and persons on the social housing list due to his Department's limits and rules; and if he will intervene to find a reasonable solution in both instances.; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn asked the Minister for Education if her Department will work with the board of management of a school (details supplied) to establish an ASD unit, when their change of status to a co-educational school proceeds soon; and if she and her Department are aware that the school has a long history of innovation in special education, and with an administrative principal and specialist trained SEN staff (to masters level) already in place and two classrooms immediately available for use as ASD units, alongside their spacious grounds and large sports hall, they are in an ideal position to establish an ASD unit.
