Twelve Bills have been published in the first month of 2018, comprising four Government Bills and nine private Members’ Bills.
The Government Bills are to establish a data protection commission, amend the Industrial Development Act 1986 and give effect to European Council decisions on co-operation regarding automated searching of vehicle registration data.
The nine Private Members’ Bills cover a range of issues including providing for the safety of employees during certain severe weather warnings, prohibiting sulky racing where no permission has been granted and introducing a new statutory definition of overcrowding in accommodation.
