European Parliament President Roberta Metsola in Leinster House

The address to the joint sitting of the Houses was not President Metsola's only stop in Leinster House.

The president of the European Parliament was greeted by the Cathaoirleach at the main entrance before she signed the distinguished visitors' book. Before the joint address she also met the Ceann Comhairle.

Immediately after the joint address President Metsola took time to meet members of the Irish Women's Parliamentary Caucus before she proceeded for an engagement with second-level students from Maryfield College, Dublin, in an event facilitated by Senator Regina Doherty.

President Metsola's two-day trip to Dublin will also see her visit Trinity College Dublin and meet President Michael D. Higgins.
