Joint Committee on Children, Disability, Equality and Integration to meet with Minister O’Gorman

The Joint Committee on Children, Disability, Equality and Integration will meet with Minister Roderic O’Gorman tomorrow, Tuesday, 3 November at 4.00pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House.

The Minister for Children, Disability, Equality and Integration will brief the Committee on:

  • Key Policy and Governance Matters; and
  • Progress on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals set out in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Committee Chair Deputy Kathleen Funchion said: “This is our first engagement as a Joint Committee and we welcome this opportunity to meet with the Minister.

“Members look forward to hearing from Minister O’Gorman on his department’s key policy priorities and the progress made on the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Agenda 2030, particularly in the areas of child and disability rights in terms of poverty, zero hunger, health and education.

“The Committee also hopes the Minister will provide Members with an update on when he intends to publish the report of the Commission of Investigation into Mother and Baby Homes.”

The Joint Committee on Children, Disability, Equality and Integration  has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
