Tánaiste to brief EU Affairs Committee on Treaty negotiations

The EU Affairs Committee will tomorrow morning hear a detailed briefing on the latest state of play in European Union negotiations from Eamon Gilmore TD, Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade. The Tánaiste will update the Committee on the draft International Agreement on a Reinforced Economic Union.

Committee Vice-Chairman Paschal Donohoe TD says: “The meeting tomorrow follows a commitment from the Tánaiste to engage with the Committee to ensure that we are fully informed on the new fiscal compact.

“As European leaders edge towards agreement on a final draft, Committee Members look forward to this timely discussion with the Tánaiste.

“The Committee stands prepared to debate the merits of the new Treaty document in the coming months.”   

The meeting takes place at 10.30am on Friday 20 January in Committee Room 3, LH 2000.
