5 Mar 2012, 11:57

You are invited to attend, or send a representative, to the launch of a report on hearings in relation to the Personal Insolvency Bill by the Oireachtas Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality on Tuesday, 6th March at 3pm in the AV Room of Leinster House.

The Heads of the Personal Insolvency Bill were referred to the Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality on 26th January 2012 by the Minister for Justice and Equality. The Committee was invited to consider the Heads and to respond to the Minister by 1st March 2012.

Ten written submissions were received. A public hearing was held on 15th February 2012 to discuss issues of concern with some of those who made submissions.

The report, which will be launched tomorrow, makes a number of important recommendations on the Heads of the Bill to help tackle the problem of over-indebtedness and personal insolvency in Ireland.

Committee Chairman David Stanton and other Committee members will be in attendance and available for questions.
