Health Committee to receive update from Secretary General of Dept of Health

Secretary General at the Department of Health Ambrose McLaughlin will update the Committee on the Department of Health Statement of Strategy 2011-2014 at its meeting tomorrow, 20th September.

Secretary General at the Department of Health Ambrose McLaughlin will update the Committee on the Department of Health Statement of Strategy 2011-2014 at its meeting tomorrow, 20th September.

He will be joined by Fergal Lynch, Deputy Secretary General, Bairbre Nic Aongusa, Assistant Secretary, and Tony O’Brien, Director General designate of the HSE.

Committee Chairman, Jerry Buttimer TD said: “The Statement of Strategy 2011-2014 sets out the high level aims and objectives of the health system for that period. It also states the Department’s functions and responsibilities in leading health service reform and identifies its strategic goals and programmes for improving health outcomes. This meeting will provide a chance for members of the Committee to raise issues regarding the strategy for this three-year period which will be a time of very significant change for the health services.”

The meeting starts at 9.30am on Thursday, 20th September in Committee Room 2, LH 2000.
