Environment Sub-Committee to discuss Water Services Bill 2013

Minister of State for the NewEra Project Fergus O’Dowd TD will attend the Sub-Committee on Environment, Community and Local Government tomorrow, Wednesday, 27th February, 2013.

Cathaoirleach of the Committee Michael McCarthy TD said: “The Water Services Bill 2013 provides for the establishment of Irish Water/Uisce Éireann as a subsidiary of Bord Gáis Éireann. The subsidiary company will be responsible for the installation of water meters for domestic households connected to a public water supply. The company will also have the power to set water charges. Tomorrow, the Bill will receive detailed consideration and members will have the opportunity to propose and discuss any amendments to the legislation as published.”

This meeting will start in Committee Room 4, Leinster House at 2.15pm tomorrow, Wednesday 27th February 2013.
