Leinster House to Open its Doors for Culture Night 2013

19 Sep 2013, 09:55

The gates of Leinster House will be opened to welcome in 1,650 members of the public for an evening of culture and entertainment in the historic surroundings of the Irish Parliament, tomorrow Friday 20 September from 5.00 pm to 11.00 pm. The unique occasion takes place as part of the nationwide Culture Night Festival.

19 September 2013

On the night, visitors will enjoy unprecedented access to the Dáil and Seanad Chambers while also exploring the historic corridors of Leinster House.  Musical entertainment will be provided on the night by accomplished ladies barbershop group “Ireland Unlimited”. In the past four weeks, 1,650 members of the public have visited the Oireachtas website www.oireachtas.ie to reserve their tickets and the event is now fully booked.

The Houses of the Oireachtas are once again delighted to participate in this nationwide event.  This year, a record 190 organisations are involved in Culture Night events, spanning venues in Dublin and beyond.  Almost 8,000 people have passed through the doors of Leinster House on Culture Night since the Houses of the Oireachtas first participated in 2008.
