Members of the Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform will have a chance to question Minister for Finance Michael Noonan tomorrow, Wednesday, 13th November 2013 ahead of the forthcoming ECOFIN meeting.
Committee Chairman Ciarán Lynch said: “The Economic and Financial Affairs Council (Ecofin) deals with economic policy coordination, economic surveillance, monitoring of Member States' budgetary policy and public finances, the euro, financial markets and capital movements, and economic relations with third countries.
At the Ecofin meeting on Friday, Ministers will discuss important EU rules for winding up failing banks in the euro area - the so-called Single Resolution Mechanism - as well as measures on savings taxation and anti-money laundering. Meetings in advance of Ecofin are an invaluable opportunity for the Committee to question Minister Noonan on EU policy issues under the remit of his Department.\"
This meeting will start at 10am on Wednesday, 13th November in Committee Room 3, Leinster House 2000.
